I’m very excited to announce that my photograph, Grow, from the project For I Shall Already Have Forgotten You has been accepted into the 30th Annual Emerald Coast National.
The work will be exhibited in the Mattie Kelly Arts Center Galleries – @mkac_galleriesnwfsc – from August 26, 2022-October 21, 2022.
The Opening reception is on August 26 from 6 to 8 PM. I’m planning to attend the event, so if you happen to go, don’t be shy and say hi!

For I Shall Already Have Forgotten You is a visual elegy that narrates and documents the disappearance and gentrification of Mobile Home Parks communities in South Florida.

The impetus behind the work started with a personal question: What forces are producing the displacement of these communities? It was essential to document these transformations while describing the social and economic challenges that are directly linked to the affordable housing crisis.

Even today, there is still a lot of stigma associated with these communities and its residents. It was important to document these spaces without a stereotypical representation. To show its reality as it is, in a dignified way.

The body of work has become a visual record of a vanishing form of housing and community in America’s cities.
